Redefinition Survey
Re-establish property boundaries and resolve boundary disputes with precision.
Overview
A redefinition survey re-establishes property boundaries from existing cadastral records and evidence on the ground — locating or replacing boundary pegs, checking for encroachments, and documenting the true line of title. Fiji’s Surveyors Regulations specifically address redefinition surveys, and registered surveyors produce plans for examination and approval by the Surveyor General through the Department of Lands.
If pegs are missing, fences disagree with title, or neighbours dispute a line, can redefine your boundaries with a clear field report and survey plan. before you build, fence, or sell.
How a redefinition survey works
Redefinition work is used when original marks need to be found or replaced, or when a boundary dispute requires professional evidence. Courts and practice in Fiji expect a registered surveyor’s redefinition and, where required, a survey plan lodged with the Director of Lands for Surveyor General approval.
Records and title search
We review your certificate of title or lease, deposited plans, and related cadastral records so the field survey connects to the legal parcel description.
Field location of marks and evidence
On site we search for original pegs and occupation evidence, measure to control, and flag found or replaced marks so you can see the boundary on the ground.
Encroachment and conflict checks
Where structures or fences cross the title line, the survey quantifies the issue so you, your neighbour, or your solicitor have clear facts — not guesswork.
Plan and report for authorities
Where required, a survey plan and report are prepared for lodgement and examination by Lands / Surveyor General pathways under Fiji survey practice.
Suspect a peg is wrong or missing? with your title or DP number and site address.
